recently added music

My recently added folder is empty and continues to say that I have not added
any files recently. How do I get it to recognize the files I'm adding
(ripping).

Your post doesn't make any sense "how do I get it to recognize the files"?
Where are they going, to another folder/file? Are they being added or not
and where to?
