Recent System Crashes--Need help

Windows XP Home, SP2.
No new hardware/software installed. No viruses/spyware.
Last few days had several crashes. Event viewer file shows System Error
with following:
Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 f88d7151, parameter3
f4cb97a0, parameter4 00000000.

Any one have any suggestions/advice??

Hi,

Is a specific module mentioned?
Is a dump file created?

Go to the Control Panel/System/Advanced tab, click on startup and recovery
settings. Under the failure options uncheck the line to restart the system.

This should produce a blue screen error the next time it occurs. The full
text of the error may help diagnose what is wrong.
