All my new messages disappear when I close Outlook. I have checked Archive

Also make sure you do not have a filter applied to your view like for
instance one that only shows unread items.

View-> Arrange By-> Current View-> Messages
Additionally;
View-> Arrange By-> Custom...-> Reset Current View
