All my new messages disappear when I close Outlook. I have checked Archive
settings. How can I get messages to remain after reading?

Do not archive.

Are you looking at the items in your Inbox or in a Search Folder?
Also make sure you do not have a filter applied to your view like for
instance one that only shows unread items.

I think you're right. I think I just checked all those, and found 1 that
said auto archive, so it might work now.
Thanks so much!

That did not work. All the messages just disappeared again.
What do you think?

Does the folder size still indicate that there are items in the Inbox
folder? Righclick the folder-> Properties-> Folder Size

Then a reset on the view should do the trick;
View-> Arrange By-> Current View-> Messages

Additionally;
View-> Arrange By-> Custom...-> Reset Current View

Doesn't seem to work. Do you think some virus/spam could be deleting these
new messages?

Not very likely; you say that they disappear when you restart Outlook but
folder size still indicates that they are there?
Just making sure that there is no confusion here.
