Just noticed this after recent flurry of WinXP updates - could just be
correlation, but may be causitive - at any rate someone may have seen
similar and have a solution, please.
When downloading files, any type files, just using IE's dialog, or using
a Download Manager's dialog, Explorer's Save or Save As panels *will not*
allow me to create a new folder on XPpro [current user's] desktop! I am
allowed to save the file to the desktop, and of course, can then create a
new folder directly on the desktop with the context menu, and etc.
Hmmm! It will allow me to create a new folder anywhere else and save any
type file being downloaded into that new folder.
It simply will not allow me to create a new folder on the Desktop.
Could this be some kind of registry alteration? Not experiencing any
other strange issues elsewhere (as of yet).
Thanks for any constructive or super-technological-fragilisticalidousious
ideas and/or information. Thanks to all who give their time to help out.
Microsoft newsgroups actually had a segment on CNN's daytime tech spot.
Great to get the *free* advertising, ehh? (o; [*great* to get some
gratis advice as well!] ((o:\D
Have a nice day!
