Receiving Emails

This is my third attenpt to post a question.

When Outlook downloads emails from my SP the activity bar advises that it is
downloading say 5 emails. When complete only say 3 new emails are in my
inbox folder. I do not have any special rules in place and any nominated
junk mail is correctly put into my junk mail folder. So where do the other
email end up. I am unable to locate them anywhere in outlook or any personal
folders. can any one help. Thank you
 
Have you tried to check the "Unread Mail" folder to see if you can track
down the "missing" messages? Maybe that will help to trace the problem?
