Receiving E-Mails

I have Office XP, which had been working fine up until today.
I cannot receive my e-mails unless I hit the send & receive button.
What can I do to solve this problem?
 
Try enabling the option to schedule mail polling. I have 2003 but I believe
it's under Tools > Send and Receive Settings > Define Send and Receive Groups.
