receiving different email addresses in same account

Just installed Office 2007 (XPPro). I have two email addresses
(e-mail address removed) and (e-mail address removed). Previously, and for reasons unknown, I
had considerable problems receiving emails in same account in Outlook so
because some stuff wasn't getting through I kept Outlook for
(e-mail address removed) (had this email address for years) and set up (don't ask
me how I did it because I cannot remember!) to receive emails for (e-mail address removed)
in Outlook Express. Now that Office 2007 installed I would like to have
another shot at receiving both emails in one account in Outlook. I am a
non-techie so simple step by step stuff please - ok? Thanks

Go to Tools | Account Settings and add your "tei" account there. BTW, it's
never a good idea to post valid e-mail addresses in newsgroups...spambots
prowl here regularly.

I've tried that but message comes continually that both "Search for encrypted
settings (and unencrypted settings) server settings" and when I attempt to do
it manually get message "Send test e-mail message: None of the authentication
methods supported by this client are supported by your server." My server is
Cox and I have contacted them at least 6 times and they say it is a Microsoft
problem. I can receive and send messages in Outlook Express and receive
messages in Outlook but I cannot send them in Outlook - any advice as to what
the heck is going on gratefully received and I also cannot add (e-mail address removed)
account to my main account - thanks. I have hundreds of pages containing
email addresses so giving it here doesn't make much difference.

I don't think I have ever seen that "encrypted settings" error before. I'm
not clear from your message -- when exactly do you get that error? Does it
have an error code associated with it?

You might also want to check this article on authentication to outgoing mail
servers and see if you've missed anything in setting up your
account...http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;300897

I attempt to send email from my Outbox - go to send and receive settings/show
progress and it shows under "Errors" sending reported error (Ox800CCC80)
although I think the last two numbers change and "None of the authentication
methods supported by this client are supported by your server". As I said
previously I thought it was my server Cox but having phoned them 6 times all
I've got from them is that because I can receive emails and also send/receive
with Outlook Express it must be a fault in the program - I'll try and trace
where the "Search for encrypted settings (and unencrypted settings) server
settings" appear - thanks.

Try checking the "log on to incoming mail server before sending" box in your
account settings if it's not already checked, even if Cox doesn't say you
have to do it. I found a couple of posts on other forums that said checking
that boxed fixed this issur for them.
