I have just installed Outlook 2007 Beta 2. My current emails carried over
from Outlook 2003 read fine but any new ones I get have a blank body with an
attachment that can't be opened call 'Message'.

Obviously this is a problem!

Any ideas?

Your anti-virus might be causing this problem.

I'm currently using AVG Anti-Virus, and new messages appear blank or have
one charcter inside the message. However, as soon as I disable the E-mail
scanning plug-in in AVG, new messages appear properly.

This did not work for me. I'm still getting blank emails even with AVG
completely off.

Worked for me. Emails that come in after AVG was disabled view correctly.

Are the blank e-mails that you are getting the ones you've already downloaded
from your e-mail server? The ones already downloaded from the e-mail server
will remain blank.

Once I turned off the AVG e-mail scanner, and sent myself a new message, the
body of the new message appeared correctly. The old messages that were
imported from your old Outlook to Outlook 2007 will be alright - because
these messages were already scanned by AVG before moving to Outlook 2007.

Try sending yourself messages with the AVG e-mail scanner on and off to see
if this works.

Still nothing. I even exited completely out of AVG and I'm still
receiving blank emails. I've also tried sending and receiving from
different accounts and they all have the same result.

One more thing, my hotmail account is working fine during all this. So
it seems to be a POP3 issue.

Same here!

Disabled AVG and my new messages still show up empty.

What is interesting is that the preview window the pops up when a new
message appears shows the correct text.

Microsoft?

One more addition. It appears as if my RSS feeds are coming up blank
as well.

Anyone?

I've uninstalled for the time being until I can get an answer as to what
might be happening. A friend installed it and it works fine! Grrr...

I found an answer that works in another topic found here...

http://groups.google.com/group/micr...85ee61e150e/d0e5064f4b24813e#d0e5064f4b24813e

Here's the solution from that topic...

"Earlier I had simply stopped AVG in the the system tray, but the
problem
persisted.

Then I restarted AVG from the START button and went into Email scanner.
There is a selection to disable the plug in, which I did.

Sent myself some test messages and now message bodies are again as they
should.

I was also sending blank emails. AVG was the issue. Plain text sent fine but
HTML was being deleted. Maybe GriSoft will have a fix, but beggers can't be
choosers.

There is a fix. Either stop scanning mail or stop certifying it.

I too had the same blank email problem, I also use AVG and since stopping it
checking incoming and outgoing messages it seems to be receiving messages OK.
Have sent a few between my two email accounts are have been received with all
text visable. Glad I found the answer here as it was starting to drive me a
little mad!!!

Edit your AVG E-Mail Scanner properties (AVG Control Centre > E-Mail Scanner
Properties > Configure) and under E-Mail scanning deselect the 'Certify
mail' checkboxes. This fixed it for me now my Emails and RSS Feeds are
coming through great!

I had the same problem and as with other people turning off AVG solved it.
