Receiving Attachments - OL 2002

Hi:
Using OL 2002, XP Pro
Inbox Preview Pane - when receiving an attachment, there is no GOLD paper
clip symbol on the right side of the preview pane. But the Attachment paper
clip symbol does appear to the left of "From" column in the Inbox.
Also - Maximizing the email does not display the Attachment in the lower
portion of the screen.
Any ideas why attachments are not available?
