receiving 2 of each email

why am I receiving 2 of each email that is sent to me?
 
You might have a duplicate account. Take a look at Tools > Accounts......

Are you scanning your emails with an Anti Virus by any chance. If so disable the
scanning by uninstalling the AV and the re-installing it without the email
integration (scanning) option
