Receive on double ring

C

Chris

I have one phone line that is shared by 2 phone numbers.
I.e. a single ring is the phone, a double ring is the fax.

How can I configure fax services to receive only for a
double ring? Thanks

Windows XP does not support Distinctive Ring:

Some third party hardware devices can provide a work-around:

I assume you are on XP. If not, please get back.

Go to start->Printers and Faxes, right click on "Fax", click on Properties,
go to Devices Tab, click on Properties. A new UI comes up. This is the Modem
Specific UI, go to Receive Tab of this UI and select "Answer Mode:
Automatically answer after 2 rings".

Thanks,
Anand
