receive before send

HI,

Is there a way by which I configure Outlook to first receive before send,
when I use Send/receive?

Thanks for any help.

Is the reason you want to send before receive that your ISP requires it for
sending? If so, and if you have Outlook 2002 or Outlook 2003, you can set
this up by going to the "Outgoing server" tab for your account, checking
the "my server requires authentication" box, and also the option to login
to your incoming server before sending.
 
Thanks Jeff. Your assumption was right and it worked.

I am assuming now that there is no other way to alter the order of send and
receive.

Sending and receiving occur simultaneously in Outlook 2002 and 2003; there
is no way to change the ordering.
