Reboots out of nowhere

Bruce Diamond

Hello all.

The other day, my Windows 2000 Pro SP4 computer rebooted
itself, in the middle of what I was doing, with no
warning, out of nowhere. One moment I'm humming along,
the next I see my computer's POST and bootup sequence.

This is now happening frequently but irregularly (I don't
know if I'll be able to finish this message). It can
happen at any time, regardless of what programs are
running or not, and has happened even waiting at the login
screen after the last reboot.

After each reboot, the Event log records:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Save Dump
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1001

Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck
was: 0x00000050 (0xe4583025, 0x00000001, 0xbaba0515,
0x00000001). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was
saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini072104-03.dmp.

The bugcheck is always 0x00000050, but the 4 parameters
are always different.

I did a dumpchk on all of the minidump logs, and they all
look like this:

OK...anyone have any ideas as to what's happening and
why? And most importantly, how I can stop it?

Thanks in advance,
