Reboot Pending error

I recently did a complete re-installation of my XP OS. Everthing is
fine except when I installed various software. My system is
completely up to date now. I tried to install Nero 8 and repeatedly
got notifications telling me to reboot due to a system wide reboot
being necessary. Despite a number of reboots, the notifications
persisted. I eventually managed to install this particular software
due to being presented with an "Ignore" option. This worked for Nero
but I have similar notifications when installing some Serif software.
The software is fine on other computers running the same OS. So my
system is repeatedly notifying me of a "Reboot Pending" when
installing software. This is clearly a system problem as opposed to
the particular software I own. Any Ideas? Any help appreciated. I
have SP3, Registry Mechanic, AVG (Licensed) and the computer works
flawlessly except for this one problem.

PS I have taken a number of screenshots of the errors if anyone could
analyze them for me. They seem to mention a Pending File Rename
problem. I have ran my registry software, ChDisk and AVG but to no
avail. The Serif software indicates an error of "2755". It is
PagePlus 11.

Thankyou

Jim

First off I would dump Registry Mechanic.

Have a look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for
Errors and Warnings and post copies here. Don't post any more than 48
hours ago.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.
