XP pro system. When booted, it goes to the point of loading the desktop then
does a spontaneous reboot. However it will boot and run in safe mode. It
had been in hibernation for several weeks (no hard reboot). When I did a
real shutdown, it went into the reboot loop. I did a system restore from
safe mood. It successfully restored to an earlier checkpoint, but that did
not solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Boot the computer in safe mode and right click "My Computer", click the
"Properties" box in the menu. Click the "Advanced" tab, under "Startup and
Recovery", click settings and untick "Automatically restart". Reboot in
normal mode, the computer should stop at a blue screen with error messages.
Use Google to find solutions. Repost with the error codes, someone may be
able to help.
