Reassigning A Meeting To Another Organizer

Dan R.

In functional terms, here's my problem: I set up a
recurring meeting because I was in charge of it. However,
I am no longer involved with the meeting due to an
organizational change, so I want to reassign it to the
new owner. Otherwise it will be on my calendar for a long
time, but I won't be attending it. In more technical
terms, I need to change the Meeting Organizer field to
another person.

How can I do that?

Thanks,
Dan

I realize that deleting the meeting and having the new
owner re-schedule it would work. However, I don't want
him to have to spend the time inviting 20 people to a
meeting, and them having to spend the time accepting it.
There should just be a way to transfer a meeting to a new
owner.

The only way I know of doing this would be via programming or with a tool
such as Outlook Updater from Teamscope. However, I have no idea what the
ramifications would be if you changed both the Organizer and Meeting
Status fields since copies of the event may exist on personal calendars
and/or in public folders.

I'm afraid that is the best way to handle it, particularly
if you have booked any resources, such as a conference
room. There is no way to change the Meeting Organizer as
far as I know.
