Rearrange

I have a large number of photo's (>1000) where several need to be
rearranged for creating a slideshow. Doing this bij renaming the individual
..jpg files would be too time consuming. I can reorder the pictures in a
thumbnail view window by just a drag and drop. Is there any program which
renames the pictire files in the order created in my thumbnail view? Thanks
for any advize

You can do this easily with XP.
First you rearrange the order with XP
Second you batch rename your new arrangement with XP.
If you intend to copy to CDs to show these photos on a TV using a DVD player
you then batch rename your new XP order with available free software and
copy to CD so your DVD player will display them in the proper order.
