reappearing viruses

Group:

I have run spyware multiple times and it cleans all found
problems. When I re-sign on from any user, the following
7 spyware found items show up again.

1) eXact Downloader
2) Browser Hijacker : Start Page about:blank
3) AUTO.SEARCH.MSN.COM REDIRECT
4) MidAddle which looks to update the registry
5) WildMedia.Overpro
6) IEPlugin
7) Lycos Sidesearch

These are causing a lot of little problems. Neither
Spyware nor McAfee permantely fixes the problem. Is there
a solution?

Thanks

(Ahh, I wish i had seen this before i made a new post.)
I too am getting this sort of thing, except its with
eZula.Toptext. I really hope there is a solution other
than a format.

Try running the scanner in safe mode, as you should with all spyware
scanners when you suspect something is there.

In addition to Larry's suggestion of scanning in safe mode, which I agree
with, please go to tools, suspected spyware report and submit a report from
the infected machine.

Many times these varmints will reappear after a reboot because they are
hiding in the system restore files. When you reboot, the fact they were
removed will trigger them to restore themselves.
Try disabling System Restore, then scan your system and remove the
infected files.

Hope this helps......Fran

Re-appearing SUPERVIRUS!!

I am a computer enginner and I have now seen this super virus 3 times. The first time I had to do a re-format. I have used Symantec Corp, Mcafee, Sophos, Microtrends, and Avast all updated to the latest definstaions. I also used webroot Spysweeper. The viruses are written in the windows folder as well as the system32 folder and also documents and settings and a couple of other places too. This supervirus generates at random different viruses and dumps them on your hardisk. I wish somebody had a solution to this. The anti virus progs are all useless against it.
