Realtek and sound

Hi
I have put my computer back to factory condition as it was very slow and
something was wrong. Anyway I have managed to get it connected and my emails
are sorted but I have no sound. I downloaded Realtek which took ages to
download but it has error messages when I tried to install it. The messages
are as follows "unable to launch setcdfmt.exe". "alcxwdm.cat not found". My
programs were on D drive but now they are on C like they should be, I deleted
everything in d drive as that was what I was on before I put it back. So
maybe I have done something wrong, any help would be great, thank you.
Waiting for your reply. Also a game that I had on called Deep Sea Tycoon had
worked but now I get error message. I have Windows XP Home and have got SP2.

Here is a catalog file that you need:

http://www.filewatcher.com/m/Alcxwdm.cat.185089.0.0.html

Just right-click & save target as... All it is is a security catalog

What I suggest you do is find out what make/model your motherboard is, go to
that manufacturer & download the correct installation for your board. Its
the best way

If you go to SYSTEM INFORMATION then it will help point you in the right
area

Here is the RealTek Download page, if that helps:
