really slow times on Windows XP

Hi,

When I first got my computer it was very quick. But now it
takes almost 3 minutes just to show the contents of a
folder. Most response times are unacceptable. I have even
made the change so that it shows my folders the quickest
format (I can no longer see the little previews that can
be so handy).

I don't have any games running on my computer. I have
Zoombrowser (for digital camera) and other office
software, but really I had the problem before ZB.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Hi.

Well it can really depend what programs you run on your computer and it depends really on a lot of things. First of all how much space do you keep available. Sometimes also when you install an OS like Xp on an old PC it wont run too smooth either. I suggest that you run a defrag and install the software ad-daware 6.0 its freeware that cleans up your computer of all unnecessary files. If you need more instructions or questions dont be afraid to e-mail me

Regular frequent maintenance and lots of RAM is needed
for XP to run well. 256 mb is minimum, 512 mb is better,
and run disk cleanup, defragmenter, and scan for spyware,
adware, and worms, trojans, and viruses too.

Thanks I'll try that.

I have Norton Security on my computer. Does that look for
spyware as well as viruses or do I need other software for
that.
Thanks,
