Any suggestions on how to get RealAlternative to automatically
run ra files in K-Meleon would be appreciated.

Use JetAudio as your media player.
http://www.jetaudio.com/download/
Example 1: BBC News
http://news.bbc.co.uk/
Click on a News Bulletins Audio link. K-Meleon will offer you a file called
bulletin.ram. Save this to any temp file, then Open it with JetAudio.
Example 2: Prairie Home Companion
http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/performances/20040410/
Click on Segment 1 link. K-Meleon will offer you a file called
audio_segment.php.smil. Save this to any temp file, then Open it with
JetAudio.
I'm a K-Meleon and RealOne user (RealAlternative downloaded but not
installed yet), but this is really a K-Meleon question.
You do NOT have to settle for downloading the file first and opening
it up separately. Fixing this requires a little minor file editing in
notepad. Make sure to save a backup copy of the file. The
instructions are at
<http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/docs/realaudio.php>
and a handy test page of .RA and .RAM file links to the BBC is at
<http://www25.brinkster.com/alien2k/realaudio.html>
Have fun!
And Jet plays RealMedia Video?
I had already tried that but without success - it just offered to
download the file as before. I'm unsure of the syntax of these
prefs.js commands - the ones suggested have 'realaudio' in them
does this need to be changed do you think?
Thanks Mark
