Real world stability on Vista

The link below is to an article that describes how 28.8% of Vista crashes in
2007 were caused by NVIDIA drivers. No, that isn't a typo, that is almost one
third of all crashes. Take away NVIDIA and stability increases by an order of
magnitude. You may track the class action suit against NVIDIA. IMHO this is
huge and makes the "Vista Capable" class action suit look like sour grapes.

The article goes on to describe bad drivers, the companies that make them,
and their reluctance to update them.

If you can't tell, I read /. They hate Windows more than the people in this
group, but they do it with intelligence and humor, not crude insults.

That doesn't surprise me. I've had a total of maybe 5 BSOD's in the past
year, and I think they were all due to nVidia drivers. I'm currently
running ver. 169.25, installed 12/07 and haven't had one since.

Same here, Dave. The 169.25 have worked well. I'm kind of reticent to try
some of the newer Beta drivers. I'll probably just wait till the next WHQL
release.
