Real Time Protection Has Been Disabled

Real time protection has been disabled and I have no idea
why. When I try to re-activate, I can't. Anyone know why
this is happening and how to re-activate?

Try these two solutions:

1) do an update install--control panel, add or remove
programs, Microsoft
Antispyware, change, update.

Then, try these steps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> type in ->
command)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without
the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

You can go ahead and do both of these--neither has any
downside risk--and see if that does the job. Let us know
whether it does, or not!

Sometimes, you have to try 2 o 3 times with MSAS, in
order to stick the selection, try.

Good luck Cindy.

I have already updated but that didn't work. I also re-
downloaded the program but have not run it again. Do I
need to uninstall the existing one first? I ran the script
once only and it said it succeeded, but it still doesn't
work. What exactly does running that script do?

Thanks,
Cindy

I don't know how you got it to work, because it sure isn't
working for me!!!! I'm getting very frustrated! NOTHING is
working.

Hi Cindy,

Uninstall from ADD/REMOVE,
Delete in C:/windows/Program files, MSAS subfolders and
the MSAS folder; and delete in
C:\windows\system32 the following 3 files:
GCCollection.dll
hashlib.dll
gcUnCompress.dll

Reboot.

Run a regcleaner (Ccleaner Issues)

http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp

Also use the temp cleaner of Ccleaner.

Logged in as the administrator user who will use
Microsoft Antispyware, reinstall Microsoft Antispywªre.

Do a fresh install with version .615 (latest)
