Real Player cuts out after listening for awhile

I have a WinXP Dell Dimension 8400 with 2 GB of RAM, and Real Player
10.5.

After listening to a streaming radio broadcast over Real Player for
several hours, it's starts cutting out, i.e., the stream will be
interrupted for a second, then resumes for a few more seconds, then
cuts out momentarily again. This continues and makes listening pretty
much impossible. Upon exiting RP, and immediately restarting the
stream, it then works fine for awhile.

What's going on here, and how can I fix it?

Thanks very much for all suggestions.

Get rid of Real Player. The company is evil (they spam, they lie about
Micros~1 to Congressional committees, etc.).
