Readyboost USB and Device Manager

Daniel

Hi

I am running Vista Ultimate,
I have a 2 Gig Scandisk Cruzer drive.

I plugged it into the USB port and got the message
"do you want to speed up your system"
I selected Yes, it all seemed to go okay.

But when I go to Device manager there is a yellow mark beside
the USB key under drives.

Any idea why and how do I test if readyboost is working properly?

thanks

Daniel

The 2 Gb USB SD Cruzer you have is not fast enough. ScanDisk will release a
new faster USB drive in June that meets the Vista ready boost performance
specs.

Bummer

I did check on the internet and found a site that listed all Readyboost
capable drives and this Cruzer u3 was listed as okay.

thanks

I would contact SanDisk and Inform them. Ask for a refund.
_Side note_ With all the writes going on a friend has already burned up the
amount of writes to his in 2 months. He got a refund yes, but was told It's
not normal and that next time it would not be covered.

I'm wanting to see benchmarks. To see just how fast It Improves performance.
I've not seen any at all. YMMV...
