read-ony embedded font - disallows editing?

S

Steve

Today I was given a ppt2003 file created at a corporation that uses a
special "corporate identity" font. I found that upon opening it on my
ppt2003 machine (without that font) I got a msg, something like "contains a
read only embedded font, no editing allowed". In fact it was true; I could
not edit the file in any way whatsoever. I could edit it freely if I used
one of the conpany's machines, that has the font installed. I have never
seen this - is there any way I can turn this "feature" off and edit the file
on my PC, even if I do not have the font?

thanks,
Steve
