I moved a presentation from one machine to another. When I open it in PPT 2002, I get the
message "This presentation cannot be edited because it contains a read-only embedded
font".
This message contains no useful information. For example, WHAT font is read-only? I have
no idea what font I need to reinstall to make this editable. I cannot find out any way to
determine the list of embedded fonts...short of searching the binary text of the
presentaiton, which is about 13MB.
This is not the first time I've had a problem with embedded fonts in this regard, but this
is the first time I've been unable to edit a file. The machine from which I moved it was
decomissioned months ago. I can't even imagine what a "read-only" font is, since the last
time I looked, PowerPoint did not modify font contents.
How do I proceed on this so I can edit my own presentation?
