read a "pub" file?

Anyone know of anything in freeware that will read and edit a MS Pub file?

Unfortunately, MS Pub files cannot be read by anything else than MS
Pub...
If someone sent you a pub file, tell him/her to save the file as a pic
or in pdf and you will be able to look at it.

I had the situation a while back, and I posted to the
appropriate newsgroup on the Micro$$$oft news server.

A kind gentleman offered to convert it for me.. Perhaps you
would also be so lucky !!

Granpaw, if you unmunge my email addy and send the .pub file I will
convert to pdf and/or rtf.

Thanks to both of you, I have ms pub on another computer networked with my
main.
I was trying to edit pub files from the main box...
