Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft AntiSpyware to see if
it fixes the issue?

Yes, through add/remove, but browers still blocked
links. I reinstalled, MSAS remembered all scans and
settings.

Andre,
Tried VB6 & SP6, no luck. I deleted MSAS again through
add/remove and then deleted the file, once after down
loading and tried again after deleting MSAS. Some adds on
MSN won't display, so I right-clicked to check properties
and on the affected computer it said unknown and on my
home computer it said HTTP. I'm posting this reply on my
home computer because my laptop won't take me to the next
page when I hit post a reply. Also, the home pc shows
searchassistantOC as an add on, but the laptop doesn't.
Maybe searchassistantOC, a Microsoft active X control by
the way, is what has been disabled. It might be this
brower helper that's turning up in scans as spyware. MSAS
might be turning into a cannibal?
