There is an exception to total erasure, if packet writing (UDF) is being
used - not available via the built-in XP burning utility.
With this method of writing, the disk is first formatted, then it acts
similar to a large floppy. See...

If you are not doing a "Multi-Session" CD of a packet-writing (UDF) like
InCD/Drag to Disk/DLA, then YES!!!!!!!!

With UDF, you will be prompted, if you attempt to write a file with an
existing file name.

If the names are different then the first will not be overwritten. If you want to remove the one on
the disk it must be erased first.
