Actually my code is different. I'm getting 0x80070422.

Defender uses the same mechanism as the WU/AU client on your box. If you are
using your own WSUS server for WU/AU then maybe your SUS administrator has
not approved Windows defender definitions? Please check the windowsupdate.log
file in your %windir% that might provide more detailed info on this error

Hi Ravi:

Thanks for your input. I am having the same problem of not getting updates
and am behind a proxy server/firewall. I have checked my windowsupdates and
they are proceeding properly. Below is the text from WindowsUpdate.log as
presented after the failure:

2006-02-14 13:47:12 1116 820 Report REPORT EVENT:

Please suggest anything further ...
