Re: Unable to open Access 1.x file

I doubt you'll find anyone who still has Access 1.x on their machines. See
if you can attach or import just the tables. If not, someone with Access 2.0
will be able to read and save your data. From there, Access 97 can read the
data.

Error Opening 1.x Access mdb file in newer versions

I have found a way to open older version of Access in the new version when you get an error "This operation is not supported for Microsoft Access 1.X databases."
Create a blank database and then use the import feature in the Tables to import the old mdb object.
You may need to do little reformatting but you will see most of the data.

Old Access Files

Many many thanks to Kaushikthakrar for his suggestion. I had spent many months putting an Access database together some years ago. It was as a 1.x file. I now need it again, after about 12 years. I had virtually given up hope of being able to retrieve it until I came across K's suggestion. It worked well with no need to further work on the formatting - just a single click and I was there.
