Re-sort Favorites

My favorites in IE are sorted by name. I would like them sorted by "date
modified" or "date created". I tried going to:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Favorites
and sorting it there, but that didn't affect the favorites toolbar in IE.

Any ideas?

I don't think you can get an automatic sort like that for the menu
or for the Favorites Explorer bar but if you open the Favorites folder
in an Explorer window you will be able to use View, Arrange Icons by
to do what you want. Otherwise AFAIK you could reorder the elements
only by dragging them into whatever order you want (hopefully thus
disabling any automatic sort.)
