Re-instlling from a product recovery disk

My 3 year old laptop just had a major disk failure and I need to re-install
windows. I had XP-Pro pre-installed on it but cant find the recvery disk that
came with it. I dhowever have the recovery disk for my other laptop, which
had XP Home pre-installed on it and is 2 years old. They are both Toshiba
laptops.

Can I use the XP home recovery disk to reinstall windows on my laptop that
originally had XP-Pro if I use the XP-Pro licence number during installation?

If I cant, what are my options? My 3 year old laptop is now just a paper
weight and I need to resurect it.

Thanks

No the numbers won't match. You need the XP-Pro recovery disk. Contact
the laptop manufacturer and get another.
