Re-Installing XP Home

Hi all

Recently I have been having 'problems' with my
computer, and I have come to the decision to re-install
Windows XP. But, my only problem is, how do you do it? I
tried popping in the WinXP disc and the setup said it
was 'installing.' However, when I tried to delete my
partition, the setup gave me a message along the lines
of: "Setup cannot delete the system files because they
will be used in the installation of the new OS..." I also
tried to overwrite WinXP on the same partition, but the
new installation still had my old files on it! What I'm
looking for is a 'completely clean start'. Also, I don't
have enough space on my HD to create two partitions. I'm
young and not too smart with these things, so can someone
please help me out?

Install xp cd,restart computer,boot to cd,when the text
appears,recovery,press the enter key for password,then
type:FORMAT C: /FS:ntfs
When its thru,type:EXIT
Reboot to cd,now select install xp instead of recovery.

select less than the max size,leave raw,xp

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
