RE-INSTALL XPPRO

My computer went belly-up XP Pro. In order to not lose all my info, I had
to re-install and place Windows in a different folder. When I boot-up there
are two options to boot, of course one of them won´t work because it is the
faulty OS that lost config.sys.

Question is: Can I delete the old Windows in Windows Explorer after boot-up
is completed without causing problems?

Any help will be appreciated.

Once you have completed your reinstall and have
transferred your documents from the 1st install, you can
safetly delete it. To take it out of your boot options,
edit the boot.ini fille that is in the C:\ or primary boot
directory (if it's on another disk)and just remove the
reference to the old one. Good luck.
