Jeff

I need to re-format my hard drive and re-install the
operating system. Can you suggest where I can find
documentation on the correct procedure for doing this?
Thanks.

Boot the Windows 2000 CD, on the screen where it asks
where you want to install, you can delete and re-make the
partitions.

Greetings --

Simply boot from the Win2K installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and/or format the system partition as
part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the
order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

Boot off the 2000 CD and follow instructions. changing the Boot is
done by changing the boot setting in bios which is done using DEL as
soon as you get something on the screen after booting up.

Borge,

Go to my website, email me, and I'll talk you through it. The advice you are
getting assumes you already know more than you seem to.

Caveat: You will erase all data currently on your drive!

But if that's your intention, to start fresh, then by all means.

Steps:
1. Go to System Bios (Restart your computer and continuously press <Delete>
key on your keyboard, until you see CMOS SETUP UTILITY on your screen.
2. Change boot option order-->choose CD ROM as your first order in your
boot sequence.
(Boot option is normally under "Advance CMOS Setup")
3. Put your Windows 2000 CD on your CD Rom
4 Press F10
5 Follow screen directions.
