Re Format disk and re-install

Hi - pc got corrupted, ready to take some pain and
rebuild my system :( bad news is I'm not clear how i can
format my hard drive??? anybody help me?

Might want to try a repair install first. See the links below for both a
clean install and repair install.

You do it as part of a reinstall of the system after booting the XP CD
direct. Enter Setup, and after the license agreement take New Install.
When it asks you to confirm where, hit ESC; select and delete the
current partition and make a new RAW one to be formatted at the next
stage

Make certain you have your Product Key (25 characters) still - if not,
you can recover it before the format from within Windows: get the free
Aida 32, enterprise edition from

which is an excellent general System Info tool, and its Software -
Licenses page will tell you the one used for Windows and ones for
several other items.
