Re-enabling Bitlocker

I decrypted my hard drive after encrypting it with bitlocker, however now I
can’t seem to encrypt my hard drive with Bitlocker again.

Sorry I forgot to mention that the error it gives is that there is
insufficient disk space for bitlocker to encrypt the drive, however I have
over half of my hard drive free and my disks are partitioned correctly.

Thank you for your help however I have deleted most of my files, uninstalled
most of my programs and bitlocker still won’t enable it keeps saying that
there is insufficient disk space. The command line defrag utility says that I
have 0% fragmentation of my hard drive, and that the largest extent of free
space on my hard drive is 12.31GB with the average free space extent being
4MB, does the largest free space extent have to be equal to the amount of
space used on the hard drive perhaps? I decrypted the hard drive in the first
place so that I could repartition it however the utility I was using wouldn’t
work.

When I did it I had to free up 13 GB before it would encrypt. I don't think
you have to have half the drive free, but you may need more. Run a
defragmentation pass and see what happens.

Okay, I have run a defragmentation pass, and was able to get the largest free
space extent up to 24.19GB, but it still won't encrypt. Currently I am using
16.74GB of my hard drive.

How much free in the "boot" volume (the one where Bootmgr is, not the one
where Windows directory is)?

1.42GB are free on the boot volume with the largest free space extent being
750MB, and the average free space extent being 364MB.

There have been successes reported by people who have the same error, and
then defragment their hard drives.

BitLocker is apparently looking for _contiguous_ free space, for some reason
I can't imagine at.

Okay I have tried defragmenting my hard drive, and I have 28.23GB contiguous
free space. However bitlocker still won't enable. Any idea how much
contiguous free space is Needed?
