Hey Everyone,

I am on ADSL service. I have Windows set to redial on disconnect but it
never does. Anywhere in particular that I need to be looking to resolve
this?

Thanks,

Gordon

A week and not the 1st reply.
Hell if "My girlfriends nipples pokeing out of her wet bra 9365" could
answer the question I'd be happy!

you should probably ask your adsl provider. as far as i understand most dsl
systems are 'always on' so there is no reason to ever dial.

Thanks for the response Dave. I understand what you're saying but my logic
tells me that this should be no different than a dial-up connection. If I
lose the dial-up connection, Windows will automatically begin redialing. I
see no reason as to why the same should not be true with ADSL. I know that
some providers will drop your connection from time to time but once the
connection is severed Windows (if the option is checked) should attempt to
restore it. My does not do this. I thinks perhaps that the install software
from the provider may disable the redial option. Redial is probably not a
good description in the ADSL realm of things but it does go through the same
controls to get you connected. If anyone knows where in the registry this
resides I would appreciate the info.

but thats the point. there is no dialing with adsl, it should always be
there. i would expect windows to respond to a loss of it like it would to
pulling an ethernet plug and putting it back in... it would just pick up
where it left off (minus any connection that timed out). do you have a
number for the interface to dial? is there an app supplied by the isp to
log you in to their network?? does that have a reconnect or auto login
control? what does their support say about your problem?

Hi Dave,

I finally caught on. Yes I have a number but it 's like x(number),(number)
and my logon credentials. I was confused because it uses the exact same
method for connection like the dial-up. I get the same window. Where you
would put in the phone number of your dial-up, I put in the coding above. I
finally caught on. When the computer is booted, the ADSL connection is
established. The connection now exists but I haven't logged into the 'Net".
SO as you said, when the connection drops - my login expires and the ADSL
modem sits there waiting for me to 'Logon" to the network again. I finally
caught on!.The re-dial option does not work with ADSL.

Thanks
