Re boot Safe mode

Terry

When working remotely from time to time I need to reboot the remote machine,
but I can only disconnect.

Is there a way to reboot a remote PC and can I re boot into safe mode?
Thanks

Safe mode with networking you mean?
You might be able to remotely do that - although I am unsure (if you can and
why you would want to do that remotely.)

But - as for the reboot - easy enough.

Option (1) - with the remote computer full screened, press CTRL+ALT+END.
That's like pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL on your local computer. You should be
able to restart from there.

Option (2) - Start button --> RUN --> type in:
shutdown -r -f -t 120
--> Click OK.

Move the 'shutdown timer' to one corner of the screen and click on the start
button and choose to Log Off. It should log you off and continue to
countdown to restart within that two minute window. After 3-10 minutes
(depending on many factors) after logging off - try to remote back in.

For those wondering why I did the 120 second timer and did not just have the
person reboot immediately - there are video cards (mostly in the ATI family)
that react badly to a restart remotely like that. By setting the timer to
120 seconds - one should have enough time to initiate a log off and finish
it before it restarts - thus when the restart actually happens - the video
driver has no issue because no one is remotely connected.
