Re-assigned my jump drive?

Why did my computer re-assign my jump drive a differant letter? It used
to be F and now it is G. I tried removing it, restarting my computer and
installing it again and it goes back to G. It skips F altogether. I even
tried to put in my media card reader and it assigns F,H,I, and J. It skips G
with the jump drive not even plugged in. HELP !!!!!!!
