I've installed a Windows 2000 server on a Dell PowerEdge
1300, and I want to the change the drive letter
assignment from C: to M:. I want to be able to boot my
server from the M: boot partition. I've researched the
internet and it gave me an option on how to accomplish
this task by making a change in the registry. I've tried
this, but I get to my login screen to log into the
network, it starts the "saving settings" and kicks me
right back to the login screen. Does anyone know how to
make this happen.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Eli - I believe you have 2 options:
(1) Create and format a primary partition somewhere, name it M:, and
install the system to that partition
(2) Manually change C: to M: in the thousands of references to C: that
exist now in the registry, DLLs, and elsewhere. This might take a bit of
time.

I believe someone here once suggested a certain utility that is supposed
to do this job, and someone else replied that it was unreliable. Perhaps
a google would be productive for you, if nobody else responds with
better news.
