Re 4:3 vs 16:9

Interesting posts as my last movie was the first I made after buying my new
Samsung HL-R5067 50" wide screen DLP HD TV. I wondered about a way to get
rid of the upper and lower bars.

My Sony Handicam has a 16:9 shooting format feature. If I video with this
format range, upload & edit, and save in a 16:9 format, will the bars be
gone?
