So, any error message when you fail to connect to the one XP PC from the
Vista PC?

Remote Desktop Disconnected
This computer can't connect to the remote computer. Try connecting
again,....

No entry in the event logs.

I have tried the computer name and the IP address ('tis static).

Just plain wierd.

Are you running a software firewall on the XP PC that may be configured to
block incoming Remote Desktop requests from that particular Vista PCs LAN IP
address? Or any other software that may be doing the same thing, ie. NAV or
OneCare Live?

Can you ping that XP machine from the Vista PC?

Thank you for you reply.

Given an imminant moving about of computers in my office I will not pursue
this issue until the move is complete, if ever.
