RDP eventviewer connection attempts

Hi all

In my eventviewer i notice that a computer in my lan tries to connect with
my computer that accepts remote desktop connection ) ... every 5 minutes or
so it tries to connect , the connection fails ( the username tries to login
is a username that is no longer on my pc ) and it tries to cconnect a few
more times ... then this process repeats every 5 minutes ..

is this normal RDP behaviour ??
the computer that tries to connect is virus free ( according to AVG pro and
TM online scan ) .. i see no setting in the RDP screen to set options for
reconnecting ...

i use eventviewer just to keep an eye on failed logins ( security ) , but
then the eventviewer is filled with these attempts from the workstation...

what to do to get rid of the connection attempts ?

Maybe you have a scheduled task on the remote PC
that runs mstsc.exe at regular intervals, or telnet.exe.

Nope... no scheduled taks ... ( only 1 that shutsdown the pc at 2 am )
but from yer reply i gather that it is not standard behaviour ...
thnx
