Hello,
The internal and external name of our mail server is different, as we use port redirection through a firewall.
external name: nt???.company.com.au (public ip)
internal name: mail.company.local (private 192.... ip)
the ssl port is redirected from the external to internal address
Our server is Win 2003 with Exchange 2003
Client: Windows XP
I have followed the instructions in KB article 833401 to set up rcp over http. When I on the internal network I am able to connect, however I am unable to do so externally.
When I'm setting up outlook 2003, I am unable to use nt???... (or the ip address) on the "Exchange Server Settings" page - outlook forces me to use mail.company.local.
On the "Exchange Proxy Settings" page, nt???.... is accepted by outlook.
Any help would be appreciated.
Pete
