RC1 Product Key / Activation - How many instances?

I just received my CPP email, product key and balance of info. I've already
installed and activated on my primary desktop, but need to load RC1 onto
several additional computers (5) for testing with Office 2007 Beta. How many
are allowed? I've seen posts on several sites stating up to 10.

Thanks in advance.

Details from my orginal e-mail from Beta2 Quote:
You may install Beta 2 on up to 10 PCs using the same Product Key.

John,
was the "product key" you received the same as the one provided for Beta 2?.

The email said that I should use the same one that I used for Beta 2, and
that they were supplying it again for reference. It's on my home PC so I
can't give you the exact verbage. I had lost the original key in a hard
drive reformat so I had no way to check.

Is Microsoft still holding to the June 1st date for usability cutoff of RC1?
I can't see going back to XP after Vista, but having my company go to Office
2007 (Feb cutoff I believe) and Vista all at once will obviously be costly.
It will be nice to have a few months in between.

My initial impressions of Vista and Office 2007 are that they are both very
impressive.

Yes. RC1 has the same timebomb date as Beta 2.

Intel,
The product key I received in the email is different from the Beta 2
supplied key.

My Beta 2 did a clean install with the supplied key (I ordered the DVD).
The pre-RC1 would not accept the Beta 2 key and would not do a clean install
with no key. I did manage to do an upgrade from Beta 2 and had a 14 day
trial. It would not activate on the Internet. There was a phone number which
I called and they activated it.
I have never received anything about RC1. I did manage to D/L it and tried a
clean install with the Beta 2 key and it worked but said I had a 3 day trail
and it activated over the Internet.
Now I am going to install it on another system so wish me luck because I can
see no rhyme or reason to this key/activation senario.

Actually, the three day message means that sometime in the first three days
Vista will attempt to activate over the internet automatically. This is a
setting relating to a checkbox on the Setup screen when you start the
installation.

Thanks for that info. I wonder if possession of 2 keys allows you to
install Vista on 2*10=20 machines?.
Colin Barnhorst should be able to answer this.

Yes. Two keys means 20 machines.
