RC1 Install Hangs On ACPI

Upon reboot, my system (Toshiba Satellite A35-S209) hangs. The BSOD says my
BIOS is not fully ACPI compliant. My BIOS from Phoenix and they claim it is.
Anyone have a solution or a workaround? There is no upgrade for my BIOS on
the Toshiba website. Will this issue be solved in a future install of Vista?

Thanks,
Todd

Doug,

Thanks for the suggestion, but Phoenix BIOS does not have a way to turn off
Advanced Power. I've seen on other listings that it may work but as of now
there's no way for me to do that. Any other suggestions?

I have same problem with fairly new laptop. I called Phoenix, and no update,
and no plans. However, when I try the scan for caompatability the results
show that I meet minimum requirements..... with ACPI 1.0 , I think this is a
VISTA BUG!
Here are the links they gave me: (Note I have tried RC1 and RC2 same results)

http://www.phoenix.com/en/Customer+Services/BIOS+Updates/Default.htm

http://www.driveragent.com/?PHPSESSID=fa6c96e223431d60e7615baa05cbd7d6

FREE SCAN

After scan completes in the address bar change the following:

http://www.driveragent.com/driveragent_results.php..........

change: driveragent_results to vista_ready

http://www.driveragent.com/vista_ready.php..........
hit enter and it will show the compat. results.

Hope this helps.

It showed me that I meet the Minimum requirements if not exceed in some
areas but lack video power for fancy graphics, I had green checks all they
way down in the minimum, even ACPI 1.0 said OK,... ACCORDING TO MICROSOFT,
PHOENIX
AND THIS TEST, ATLEAST VISTA SHOULD LOAD!!! NOT!

ACPI BSOD ........... Microsofts Problem!

If not fixed they will loose many potential upgrade customers.
