RASMAN won't start

After being infected with the Sasser worm and ridding
myself of it, I lost my dial-up connections capability.
From the set up network connections wizard dial-up
connections are not highlighted. The problem seems to be
related to the fact that the Remote Access Services
Manager won't restart. I've tried everything I can think
of to no avail. Any Suggestions, short of backing up the
entire system and reinstalling XP?
